With Paul Mason, A.R.C.T.

This is a Washburn Woodstock steel-string acoustic, with a shallow body, cutaway and electrification. When other players come to visit they bring their own acoustic guitars and usually end up wanting to play mine!

My approach to teaching fingerstyle guitar often begins with learning the more common picking patterns - arpeggiation, Travis picking and Carter picking - and then applying them to some favourite folk, pop or blues repertoire. “Dust In The Wind” by Kansas is a good example. I also teach pick (or “plectrum”) style playing on acoustic.
